Anurag Kashyap signs 9 film deal with UTV

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of' Black Friday' and 'Dev D' fame will direct four to five movies produced by UTV and creatively produce the same number over a period of three years. The deal comprises a total of nine films over the next three years. " Anurag Kashyap is an extremely talented director, with a unique vision for his projects. There is a clear connect between how we want each of our films to be exceptional and diverse in various aspects and how Anurag treats each of his projects," said Vikas Bahl, Chief Creative Officer (CCO), UTV Motion Pictures. He said'Dev D', a UTV Spotboy movie directed by Kashyap, was a blockbuster and set the base for a phenomenal working relationship. "Now, we want to take this association forward with a long term perspective, and that is exactly how this idea came about," he said.

Amrita Arora upset with the director and production house

Amrita Arora is displeased with the way UTV handled her ouster. The actress was signed up to star in the production house’s Season’s Greetings but the project was delayed due to various reasons. However, when the lady had a chance meeting with the director of the film, Vicky Chopra, and enquired about the film’s status she was told that she has been replaced. The reason for Amrita’s ouster is stated to be her pregnancy. However, sources close to Amrita say that she had informed the producers and the director that she could act until her pregnancy bump actually showed up. The few scenes, which the actress had acted in, have also been re-shot. An upset Amrita rues that she should have been informed about it before and not the way it was done.
