TRANSSTADIA ASPIRES A PARADIGM SHIFT IN INDIA’S SPORTING ECOSYSTEM


- Unveils phase I of 300 cr investment to build world class multipurpose stadium in Gujarat –

A revolutionary concept is set to change the way sport is managed and developed in India. TransStadia, a company championing the cause of sports development through sporting infrastructure was launched today in Mumbai. An integral member of the multinational Setco Group, TransStadia’s prime objective is to facilitate a paradigm change in the sports eco-system by placing India amongst the global league of sporting nations. As a part of its objective to revolutionize sports in the country through world class multi-purpose sporting infrastructure, the dynamic company backed with a robust plan has already announced its first venture to build the world’s first truly state of the art multi-purpose stadium in Ahmedabad city, Gujarat, with an total investment plan of approximately Rs. 300 Crores. The facility will incorporate a 25000 seater stadium built to world-class standards.

TransStadia has an exclusive technology licensing agreement for All India and South Asia region with StadiArena from UK to build convertible multi-purpose stadiums with state-of-the-art patented technology. The company will design, build and operate world-class stadia with multiple facilities. The patented convertible stadium technology facilitates hosting multiple sports and live entertainment in a stadium. “By sweating the infrastructure asset to its maximum we will increase a stadium’s capacity utilization which is a must in any project.” added Udit Sheth.

Eminent personalities from all walks of life – sport, media, business, education, culture and entertainment came together to lend their support for the launch of TransStadia and the India International Sports Summit. These included a variety of acclaimed Olympians, medalists and Arjuna Awardees such as Olympian medal winner and boxing champion Vijender Singh; India's No. 1 squash player Ritwik Bhattacharya; British heptathlete and Olympic Gold winner for Javelin Tessa Sanderson; former Hockey captain and Olympic Gold winner MM Somaya; Member of Parliament Priya Dutt; renowned Sports Journalist and Editor-at-large of DNA Ayaz Memon; and Olympian and Acting President of Athletic Federation of India Adille Sumariwalla were among some of the other noted dignitaries present.
